Founders of Kachina Natural Spa, Kevin & Martina Barrett, therapists with combined experience of 45 years, bring together in Kachina the European style Spa with its therapeutic focus.

Homeopath

Kevin Barrett , MARH, MRHom, LBSH,  graduated as a Classically Qualified Homoeopath followed by  completion of a Postgraduate year. Kevin is highly respected and experienced  in his  field. He is the longest established Homeopath in Co Mayo. 2009 heralded Kevin’s 21st year as a practicing Homeopath. He is also qualified in the Area of Homotoxicology and has studied in-depth the Holistic approach to Health. He maintains strong links with Homeopathy in Europe to keep abreast of changes and advances in the field. He is a registered member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths and the Register of Homeopaths.

Therapist & Naturopath

Martina Barrett, MAR, MIRI, MNFSH, is renowned as a therapist and an educator. Martina has been in clinical practice since 1983 specializing in Reflexology and including Aromatherapy, Massage, Colour, Kinesiology, Counselling, Psychosynthesis, Body Treatments, Facial Treatments, plus others. She has studied Spiritual Psychotherapeutics to an advanced level  and has trained in various modes of vibrational healing work. She is a qualified tutor and runs her own accredited training courses in Reflexology & Anatomy & Physiology as well as a wide range of workshops. Martina is a registered member of a number of professional organisations.

Master Beautician & Holistic Therapist

Gosia Borowiecka joined the Kachina Team in 2005 bringing with her advanced qualifications and experience. Gosia completed her basic training in Poland in 1990 and followed this with her Masters Beautician Certification and Pedagogical Training as Therapy Tutor. Gosia provides a full range of beauty treatments, facials, body treatments, indian head massage, wraps, exfoliation, earconing, all with her unique professional, gentle and spiritual approach.

 

Beauty & Body Therapist

Anne Marie Samuels is a highly qualified and experienced therapist. She graduated in 2006 with ITEC Diplomas in Beauty, Facial & Electrical, Epilation, & Body Treatments. Anne Marie specialises in Tanning, Waxing and Nails and brings to her treatments her cheerful and caring personality.

Receptionist

Aileen Forde is a founder member of the Kachina Team. She graduated with a Diploma in Business Studies with continued educational studies in Colour Co-ordination. Aileen brings her quiet confident nature to maintaining the smooth running of reception and organising the integration of operations in Kachina.  

 

Beauty Therapist & Body Therapist

Sinead Scahill graduated in 2001 with CIBTAC & ITEC Diplomas. She holds qualifications in Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology, Make-up Artistry, Holistic Massage, Epilation, Indian Head Massage, Manicure & Pedicure, Hot Stone Therapy, Maternity Massage, Post-Partum & Infant Massage, and Mama Mio Mama's Touch Maternity Spa Treatment Method. She is also a Qualified Tutor in Beauty Therapy. Sinead brings to her treatments her wealth of knowledge & expertise as well as her calmness, confidence,  professionalism and personal radiance.

Thai Massage & Body Therapist

Dao Sheehan Dao graduated from Wat Pho Thai Traditional Massage School with qualifications in
Thai Traditional Massage, Oil Massage, and Thai Foot Massage. She has also qualified in the application of INM Acrylic Nails. Dao was born and raised in Kantaralak, Thailand,and has been living in Ireland since 2004. Dao brings her Eastern charm combined with a calm essence to her treatments.

Massage Therapist

Seamus Hughes first studied the "Dorn-Method" of working on the Spine and  in Schwabch Germany in 1989 combining this study with studies in theoretical Anatomy & Physiology. ITEC Dipolma. He continued to study the use of Trigger points in Massage, Moxibustion and Cupping. He graduated in Reiki to level 3 and followed this by studying with Bulgarian teacher, Ivan Yankov, the art of Yomeiho massage, a body massage with emphasis on the Spine and joints. Seamus brings to his treatments an very individualised and unique approach to massage combined with his innate intuition and practical proficiency.

Podiatrist / Chiropodist

Úna Loughran BSc Podiatry MSChI graduated with a Bachelor of Science, specialising in Podiatry from Durham School of Podiatry in 1999. She has since worked in both public and private sector. She has gained extensive experience from the variety of patients she has treated in many varied settings. She has worked in both public and private nursings homes, psychiatric residential homes and provided podiatry for a respite home for people with MS and a day care centre for the elderly. Private practice offers a wide variety of patients both in age and range of treatments. The youngest patient was 14 months and the oldest to date was 102!

Areas of special interest include; nail surgery for treatment of ingrown toe-nails and treatment of fungal nails.

Another area of interest for Úna is the assessment and treatment of patients with diabetes, which stems from setting up and running an outpatient clinic for patients with Type I and Type II diabetes in conjunction with a diabetes nurse specialist for the HSE.

The highlight of her career to date has been volunteering as a podiatrist in the Special Olympics World Summer Games in 2003 as part of the healthy athlete programme.
 

Natural Healer

Stephen Naughton, MNFSH, Is an intuitive natural healer with over 20 years experience. His natural healing abilities have  been augmented by further studies which include Theoretical Anatomy & Physiology,  Touch for Health, Certified Healing Course with the Healing Trust Federation UK & Rieki.

Acupuncturist

Susan Graham  having graduated from Lansdowne College of Acupuncture and Active Health College Dublin with Diploma’s in Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation, Susan is also a qualified and highly experienced in Beauty Therapist, Aromatherapist, Swedish massage and Reiki practioner. Having worked in one of Ireland’s 5 star hotels Ashford Castle, and one of Galway’s top beauty salons Elizabeth C. Susan has always looked at towards the holistic approach to her clients

The Physiotherapist
Sunder Palan, BPT, MISCP, graduated as a Bachelor in Physiotherapy in the year 2000 in India.  He has ten years of working experience  in the field of Physiotherapy. He is more specialised in musculoskeletal and sports injuries. He also has experience in treating neurological conditions. He is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Since qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist, Sunder has worked for five years in a busy Private Practice in Ireland specialising in Musculoskeletal Dysfunction. The varied and intensive
nature of his caseload meant that he had the opportunity to build up significant experience in the treatment and functional rehabilitation of many musculoskeletal problems, including acute/recurrent sports injuries, occupational injuries and chronic neck/low back pain. Sunder also worked with various GAA football and rugby clubs, finding the treatment and prevention of sports injuries.
